The complex scrap includes different elektric and electronik devices and sub-assembles worn out taken out of service, such as sub-assemblies of a military , hardware telecommunication equipment including telephone exchanges and telephone sets, household goods, measuriand control devices (electricity meters, laboratory and medical instrumentation). This scrap is a mixture of different metals and alloys, mainly steel, aluminium and copper, and non-metallic components: plastcs, ceramics, rubber, paper, ebonite, wood and composites. The treatment of electric and elektronic scrap its sorting, mechanical treatment separation by magnetic, air, screening, heavy medium and eddy current separator, and re-melting and fire and elektrolytic refining of metallic fractions. Thr investigation carried out at the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metalls in Gliwice resulted in the devolepment of a method for premilinary processing of the complex scrap, and selection of a method for metallic fraction separation, re melting and refining to obtain alloys of aluminium and copper.
